Author Emily Henry has announced that her highly anticipated new novel, Great Big Beautiful Life, is set to be released on April 22, 2025. The book follows the story of two writers, Alice Scott and Hayden Anderson, who are competing to write the biography of Margaret Ives, a tragic heiress with a scandalous family history. The twist is that Margaret is only sharing bits of her story with each writer, making the truth elusive. The novel is described as a mix of mystery, tragedy, and love ballad, depending on who is telling the story.
Henry revealed that the inspiration for Great Big Beautiful Life closely correlates with Taylor Swift’s song “The Last Great American Dynasty,” which tells the story of socialite Rebekah Harkness. The novel is expected to be a departure from Henry’s previous works, still maintaining the elements of a love story and romance.
While there is no information on a potential onscreen adaptation of Great Big Beautiful Life, several of Henry’s other books, such as Beach Read, People We Meet on Vacation, and Funny Story, are currently in production. Fans are eagerly awaiting to see how Henry’s newest novel will captivate audiences and whether it will be adapted for film or television.
