President-elect Donald Trump is quickly assembling his administration for his second term, appointing allies to serve as advisers and Cabinet members. He has filled at least seven positions within a week of winning the election, including Stephen Miller as deputy chief of staff for policy, Lee Zeldin to head the EPA, and Mike Waltz as national security adviser. Two campaign allies, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Elon Musk, are expected to receive positions as well.
Some key appointments include Susie Wiles as the first woman in history to be named White House chief of staff, Stephen Miller as deputy chief of staff for policy, and Elise Stefanik as UN ambassador. Tom Homan has been chosen as the “border czar” to oversee deportation policy, while Lee Zeldin has been appointed as the EPA head. Marco Rubio is reportedly expected to be named Secretary of State, and Kristi Noem is in line for Secretary of Homeland Security.
The Cabinet advises the president on issues related to their respective offices, with positions including Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, Attorney General, and Secretary of Treasury, among others. In addition to Cabinet positions, presidential advisers include the vice president, chief of staff, and various department heads. Trump’s upcoming administration is taking shape with a mix of loyalists, experienced politicians, and newcomers in key positions.
