Former Tennessee deputy, Connor Brackin, is facing multiple charges in connection with the shooting deaths of seven dogs at a home in Betel Springs. The incident occurred on November 4 when Brackin responded to an animal welfare call and released a dog to the complainant before shooting the remaining dogs for reasons that are still under investigation. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation launched a probe following a request from the District Attorney General. Brackin, 24, was charged with multiple counts of reckless endangerment and aggravated cruelty to animals. He resigned from the sheriff’s office and turned himself in after warrants were secured for his arrest. Brackin had only been employed at the agency for less than a month. This case has sparked outrage and controversy, with many calling for justice for the dogs who were killed.
