Boston Celtics guard Derrick White has partnered with Sam Adams to launch his own beer called (Derrick) White Ale. In a new commercial released by Sam Adams, White re-enacts scenes from the movie “The Town” with the “Your Cousin from Boston” character. The ad features a robbery scene where they pretend to be nuns wearing facemasks resembling Samuel Adams to trick security at the brewery.
(Derrick) White Ale features refreshing ingredients like coriander, orange peel, rose hips, and tamarind, with an alcohol percentage of 5.9%. The beer will be available for purchase on draft and in limited-edition cans at Boston Beer Co.’s downtown taproom during the Celtics season. Additionally, $1 from every pint sold will be donated to The Greater Boston Food Bank.
To celebrate the beer’s launch, White will be pouring beers at the brewery on Friday evening. Samuel Adams’ Jamaica Plain brewery will also hold a raffle for signed cans of (Derrick) White Ale. This is not the first time White has been featured in a commercial with Sam Adams, as he previously appeared in an ad driving a duck boat around Boston.
Fans of the Celtics and beer enthusiasts alike can now enjoy (Derrick) White Ale while supporting a good cause through the donation to The Greater Boston Food Bank. Cheers to Derrick White and his new beer venture with Sam Adams!
