Urologist Daniel Paduch convicted of sexual abuse of patients, sentenced to life

Former New York-area urologist Darius Paduch was sentenced to life in prison for sexually abusing patients, including minors, over a decade. He was found guilty of inducing patients to engage in unlawful sexual activity and was ordered to pay restitution. Paduch used his position at prestigious hospitals to sexually assault vulnerable patients, including children, to satisfy his own desires. He worked at two prominent medical facilities in New York City specializing in male infertility and sexual medicine. During his trial, 11 victims testified about being abused by him, and dozens more provided impact statements. Paduch enticed victims to travel to his medical offices in Manhattan and New Jersey for abuse. He also practiced at a hospital in Long Island where he continued to abuse patients. He invited at least one patient to his boat, sedated them, and abused them. Paduch made victims believe the abuse was medically necessary. He also invited minors to serve as high school interns. Some victims saw him for multiple years, where he repeatedly abused them. Paduch’s actions were described as perverse and pervasive by federal prosecutors.
