Boston Celtics pay a visit to President Biden at the White House

The Boston Celtics visited the White House on Thursday to commemorate their 18th NBA championship with President Joe Biden. The event included the entire team, coaching staff, and ownership group, with even former player Oshae Brissett in attendance to receive his championship ring. Biden, who jokingly referred to himself as “Celtic” due to his Irish heritage, praised the team for their hard work and dedication to achieve their championship win. He highlighted the team’s impressive season stats and playoff victories before reminiscing about the tradition of NBA champions visiting the White House, dating back to John F. Kennedy in 1963. Both Biden and Celtics primary owner Wyc Grousbeck lifted the Larry O’Brien Trophy on stage for a photo as the United States Marine Band played “We Are The Champions” by Queen. The players, including Jayson Tatum and Derrick White, expressed excitement about the visit and the opportunity to celebrate their achievement at the White House. Overall, the event was a symbolic moment of honoring the team’s success and the values of hard work, teamwork, and respect shared in sports.
