In a heated game between the Boston Bruins and Utah, tensions flared as forward Mark Kastelic and defenseman Robert Bortuzzo engaged in not one, but two physical altercations. The first fight occurred in the first period, with Bortuzzo jumping off the bench to initiate the exchange. In the second period, Bortuzzo hit Kastelic with an elbow in the Utah zone, leading Kastelic to retaliate and the pair to engage in another fight. Despite a stick getting caught between them, Kastelic continued to throw punches with such force that his glove landed 20 yards away. The Bruins forward’s anger was evident as he kept punching even after Bortuzzo began to go down, resulting in Kastelic receiving an extra two minutes for roughing, which the Bruins were able to successfully kill off. Bortuzzo, who had only accumulated six penalty minutes prior to the game, now had a total of 10 through two periods. This marked the first time a Bruin had engaged in two fights in a single game this season. The physicality of the game was intense, with both players clearly not backing down from each other. The renewed animosity between Kastelic and Bortuzzo added an extra layer of intensity to an already heated matchup.
