Another accused of victimizing a child, Mynor Stiven De Paz-Munoz, was arrested in Great Barrington. He had been released on bail after an immigration detainer from ICE was ignored. A third individual, Billy Erney Buitrago-Bustos, was arrested in Pittsfield for similar heinous crimes. Both Buitrago-Bustos and De Paz-Munoz remain in federal custody. The arrests have reignited the debate over sanctuary cities like Boston, with Mayor Michelle Wu vowing not to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.
