Dog treats sold under the brand name “Hollywood Feed Carolina Made Chicken Chips” are being recalled across 19 states due to a potential salmonella contamination. The treats come in 16-ounce bags with lot number 20051324L2 and expiration date of Nov. 13, 2025. The contamination was discovered after routine testing, and no illnesses have been reported so far. Symptoms of salmonella infection in animals include lethargy, diarrhea, fever, and vomiting, while in humans it can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and other symptoms.

The treats were sold online at Hollywoodfeed.com, as well as in stores across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, and other states. The FDA warns that infected pets can spread salmonella to humans and other animals. Customers who purchased the recalled products are advised to stop using them and contact treats@carolinaprimepet.com for information on returning them for a refund.

It is important to be cautious when handling pet products to prevent the spread of salmonella. This recall is a reminder of the importance of regular testing and monitoring of pet products to ensure the safety of both animals and their owners.
