What did the Patriots learn from Jabrill Peppers’ return to practice?

The Patriots are taking things day by day as safety Jabrill Peppers returns to the team after being removed from the exempt list. Peppers returned to practice for the first time since pleading not guilty on assault, strangulation, and drug charges in October. His first practice back was a walk-through in the practice bubble. According to his position coach, Brian Belichick, Peppers is excited to be back with the team and ready to talk football. There isn’t much physically to take from the first practice back, but it’s a step in the right direction. Peppers’ case is set to go to trial on Jan. 22. Head coach Jerod Mayo expects Peppers to play in a game once he’s ready. Peppers mentioned dealing with physical issues after the team’s Week 4 loss to the 49ers. Defensive coordinator DeMarcus Covington is happy to have Peppers back in the building and around the team.
