Bruins defeat Islanders 6-3 with two goals each from Zacha and Marchand

The Boston Bruins showcased an impressive performance as they defeated the New York Islanders 6-3 on Wednesday night. Pavel Zacha and Brad Marchand led the way with two goals each, while Jonas Korpisalo made 21 saves to secure the victory.

Zacha’s pivotal tip-in goal in the third period broke a tie and set the stage for the Bruins to claim a two-goal lead. Additionally, Morgan Geekie and Nikita Zadorov also found the back of the net for Boston, with David Pastrnak and Elias Lindholm contributing three assists each.

On the opposing side, Brock Nelson stood out for the Islanders with two goals and an assist in a losing effort. Despite Nelson’s efforts, the Islanders have struggled recently, losing their second consecutive game and falling to a record of 1-4-1 in their last six games.

The win marked the Bruins’ third under interim coach Joe Sacco, who took over from Jim Montgomery on November 19. With Zacha and Marchand leading the charge, Boston looks poised for success as they continue their season. Next up, the Bruins will host the Pittsburgh Penguins, while the Islanders will visit the Washington Capitals in their upcoming matchups.
