Country singer Kellie Pickler and her former in-laws are currently embroiled in a legal battle over the property of her late husband, Kyle Jacobs, who tragically took his own life in 2023. Pickler has filed a petition against Jacobs’ parents, Reed and Sharon Jacobs, alleging that they removed items from their home without her knowledge following Kyle’s death. The dispute centers around a “List of Assets” created by Kyle’s parents, which included items such as his gun collection, jewelry, watches, and more.
While Pickler claims that she either does not have access to these items or disputes ownership, the Jacobs are firing back, stating that Pickler knew they were taking the items and even welcomed their presence to discuss the transfer. The couple’s prenuptial agreement is also being referenced as a guideline for future ownership of Kyle’s property.
The ongoing case also involves a protective order granted to Pickler, preventing the sharing of any video or transcript from her deposition. The former in-laws argue that the order seeks to protect non-existing information and was not made to avoid embarrassment, as suggested by Pickler.
Kyle Jacobs died at the age of 49 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in their Nashville home. Pickler has since sold the house for $2.3 million. The legal battle continues, and The Post has reached out to Pickler for comment. If you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts, help is available through various crisis hotlines and resources.
