McCoy’s impressive plays included a screen pass that he turned into a touchdown after breaking several tackles.
Redding praised his team’s effort and highlighted their strong defense, noting that they are one of the best in the state. Despite tough weather conditions, Mansfield’s defense was able to hold off Foxboro’s offense, with Ben Angelini scoring the lone touchdown for Foxboro.
As the Hornets look ahead to the state championship game against North Attleboro, Redding emphasized the importance of maintaining focus and staying healthy. He credited the intense Thanksgiving Day matchup with preparing his team for the upcoming challenge.
Redding’s milestone win places him among the top coaches in state history, with only seven others having reached the 300-win mark. The Hornets will face North Attleboro on December 3 at Gillette Stadium for the Division 3 state championship.
