Boston Logan Airport falls short of busiest day in 2024 with 76,440 travelers screened on Sunday

Boston Logan International Airport saw a busy day on Sunday post-Thanksgiving with 76,440 people screened by the TSA, just shy of being its busiest day in 2024. However, it still had the highest number of travelers screened compared to other New England airports. In total, New England airports screened over 112,000 people on Sunday.

Despite not breaking any records for the Thanksgiving weekend, Sunday was the busiest day ever for the overall TSA with 3.09 million travelers screened across the United States. This surpasses the previous record set on July 7, 2024. New England TSA spokesman Daniel Velez noted that the region typically doesn’t see record-breaking numbers during Thanksgiving, making Sunday’s figures somewhat surprising. With the holiday travel season in full swing, airports across the country are experiencing high levels of traffic.
