A woman in Pennsylvania fell into a sinkhole while searching for her cat, prompting a large rescue effort. Elizabeth Pollard, 64, was last seen searching for her cat near a restaurant in Unity Township. Her family reported her missing when she did not return home. State troopers found her car with her granddaughter inside, and a sinkhole nearby that was nearly the size of a manhole cover. Rescue workers accessed a mine suspected to have caused the sinkhole and found a shoe about 25 feet below ground. Despite the challenging conditions, including the presence of multiple cats at their home and hope that a void might be reached. Approximately 100 people were involved in the rescue effort, with officials expressing optimism due to favorable atmospheric conditions. Elizabeth’s niece Tabitha mentioned that her aunt has multiple cats, which are special to her and her family. The sinkhole incident has raised concerns about safety in the area and highlighted the dangers of sinkholes. Rescue workers continue to search for Elizabeth Pollard in the sinkhole, hoping to find her safely.
