Rescue workers accessed a mine suspected to have caused the sinkhole and found a shoe about 25 feet below ground. Despite the challenging conditions, including the presence of multiple cats at their home and hope that a void might be reached. Approximately 100 people were involved in the rescue effort, with officials expressing optimism due to favorable atmospheric conditions.
