He’s on the sex offender registry

Marcella Nasseri, a California woman, found her long-lost brother, Thomas Manizak, through a USA TODAY story after a 25-year search. However, it was revealed that Manizak is a registered sex offender convicted of abusing a child in 1993. Authorities failed to fingerprint him properly during his identification process at a Los Angeles County hospital, where he was found. Before his disappearance, Manizak had a history of lewd and lascivious acts and oral copulation with a child under 14. He was last seen in July 1999, after which he wandered and picked up hitchhikers while traveling in his van.

Nasseri’s GoFundMe page raised over $11,500 to transfer Manizak to a facility closer to her home and provide him with necessary items like used clothing, drawing materials, and a listening device for music. She expressed her love for her brother despite his past actions and reiterated her commitment to supporting him. Nasseri plans to visit Manizak as soon as possible and believes he deserves a chance for redemption. Manizak’s disappearance and criminal history caused heartache for their family, but Nasseri remains determined to help him through this difficult time. She hopes to offer him comfort and support as he navigates his journey toward recovery and reintegration into society.
