Trump orders release of classified documents on assassinations of JFK, RFK, and MLK

President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to release thousands of classified documents related to the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy, as well as the assassinations of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Trump, who has pledged to make these records public before, stated that “everything will be revealed.” The order directs the release of remaining records within 15 days for the JFK case and 45 days for the other two cases. However, the exact timing of the release is unclear.

Despite the release of some records in recent years, there are still roughly 3,000 documents that have not been fully declassified, many of which originated from the CIA. The released documents offer insight into intelligence operations surrounding the assassinations, including details of Lee Harvey Oswald’s interactions with Soviet and Cuban embassies before President Kennedy’s death.

The timeline for the release of the remaining documents is pending, but there is still a significant interest in uncovering any potential new information related to these historic events.
