A bus crash on Route 1A in East Boston on Monday morning resulted in the closure of all lanes. The crash occurred when an Academy tour bus drifted onto the sidewalk, knocking down a utility pole and causing damage to several vehicles. Two individuals, including the bus driver and a passenger, sustained minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital. The northbound lanes were reopened later that afternoon, with southbound traffic being detoured. The bus driver was cited for negligent operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stay within marked lanes. By Tuesday evening, all lanes had been fully reopened, and traffic resumed as usual. Academy Express LLC, the bus company involved, stated that they are cooperating with the investigation. The incident remains under active police investigation. The crash caused significant traffic disruptions but was eventually resolved, allowing commuters to pass through the area with ease.
