Jim Rice joins Brockton Rox as co-owner

The Brockton Rox are making a comeback to professional baseball as they prepare to join the Frontier League after previously being a collegiate summer baseball team in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. The team, which was founded in 2002 as an independent professional team, has seen various leagues before returning to independent pro ball.

Led by Red Sox Hall of Famer Jim Rice, the new ownership group is excited about the opportunity to bring professional baseball back to Brockton. The team will play their games at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, the same venue they shared with another independent league team, the New England Knockouts. Following the folding of the collegiate team that shared the stadium, the Knockouts will now take on the Brockton Rox name to continue competing in the Frontier League.

The Frontier League, an MLB Partner League that absorbed teams from the Can-Am League in 2019, provides a platform for the Rox to showcase their talent as they return to independent pro baseball. With the support of the community and the guidance of experienced ownership, the Brockton Rox are poised to make a strong impact in the professional baseball scene once again.
