The New England Patriots are gearing up for the 2025 NFL offseason with the most salary cap space in the league at over $120 million. NFL insider Tom Pelissero predicts that the team will be active in free agency, especially after struggling with a 4-13 record in the previous season. Despite a lackluster performance in pursuing free agents in 2024, the Patriots did succeed in drafting quarterback Drake Maye, who has now proven himself on the field.
Pelissero believes that the Patriots may have to overpay for free agents this year, but with the quarterback situation settled, they have a better selling point. Free agency begins on March 12, offering the team a chance to make significant additions. Additionally, former Patriots player Joe Thuney could join an elite group of players with more than four Super Bowl wins if he emerges victorious with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Patriots are expected to make strategic moves in the upcoming offseason to bolster their roster and improve their chances of success in the 2025 season.
