Dorchester man Anthony Ramos, 29, was found guilty of manslaughter for the fatal shooting of Boston teenager Tywon Meek, 19, in 2023. Meek was found dead with gunshot wounds at a Roxbury playground in July. Ramos was indicted by a grand jury in December, and his sentencing is scheduled for March 21. Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden expressed the tragedy of Meek’s death, stating that there is no closure for the grief and anguish felt by his family and friends. The violent death of a young person is described as a horror and a loss that can never be fully comprehended. The Boston police responded to a report of a shooting at 5 Leyland St. and found Meek’s body in the early hours of the morning. The guilty verdict brings a sense of justice to Meek’s untimely death, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
