Pickleball Kingdom, a popular pickleball chain, is set to open a new location in the Holyoke Mall this summer. The franchise holder, Pickleball X, is planning to transform the former Bob’s Stores location into a state-of-the-art pickleball center with 15 courts and a pro shop. This move is part of the growing trend of turning malls into recreational centers in response to the changing retail landscape. Prices for memberships at Pickleball Kingdom average around $100 a month, and the sport is gaining popularity across the country.
In addition to the Holyoke Mall location, Pickleball Kingdom is also considering opening centers in Springfield and Hartford. The company, which began in Arizona, is in the midst of an expansion to meet the increasing demand for pickleball facilities. With the rise of outdoor pickleball courts in parks and towns, the sport is becoming more accessible to players of all ages and skill levels.
The Holyoke Mall, which already features a bowling alley and an indoor kids play area, will now be home to this new pickleball center, adding to the diverse array of recreational options available to visitors. The opening of Pickleball Kingdom comes at a time when malls are seeking new ways to attract customers and adapt to changes in consumer habits. With the support of USA Pickleball and a growing number of dedicated players, the sport of pickleball continues to thrive and expand throughout the country.
