Milford’s Dominant Performance Propels Them to Top of Div. 2 Wrestling


Milford High School’s wrestling team returned to dominance in the Division 2 boys wrestling world, winning the title with a commanding 177.5 points. The Scarlet Hawks put seven wrestlers in the final, with three bringing home gold medals. Bridgewater-Raynham finished second with 154 points, and Billerica’s Peter Rincan and Cyrus Jones of Sharon were also victorious in their weight classes. On the girls side, Putnam took the team title with 119 points, led by Leanna Watson and Melanie Miles. Shelby Galex of Northeast/Bishop Fenwick was one of the standout performers, pinning her way to the 152-pound title. Other winners included Olivia Polansky of Bridgewater-Raynham and Hailey Lewis of Silver Lake. Overall, it was a successful weekend of wrestling for both the Milford boys and Putnam girls teams, showcasing the talent and determination of Massachusetts high school wrestlers.
