All lanes on I-93 have reopened following a crash involving two box trucks and three cars in Stoneham on Friday afternoon, as confirmed by the Massachusetts State Police. The incident occurred when one of the box trucks crossed the median and stopped in the southbound passing lane. As a result of the crash, all northbound lanes and the southbound passing lane on I-93 were closed. Traffic was diverted onto Route 28 by the Stoneham Police Department and state police. Commuters faced delays on Friday, with a 26-minute delay for northbound drivers and a 9-minute delay for southbound drivers north of Boston.
Interstate 93 northbound in Stoneham was closed at Exit 25 around 3:40 p.m., with crews working to clean up the road after an earlier crash. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation announced the reopening of all lanes at around 6 p.m. on Friday.
