Multiple wildfires raging across Texas, including one near Fredericksburg

Windy and dry weather conditions in Texas and Oklahoma have resulted in multiple wildfires across the state. In Texas, fires have spread rapidly due to strong winds exceeding 30 miles per hour and dry land fueling the flames. As of Saturday evening, 10 wildfires were still uncontained throughout the state, with the Crabapple Fire near Fredericksburg burning 8,640 acres and the Windmill Fire in Roberts County raging through over 23,000 acres. Efforts to contain the Windmill Fire included the use of a Large Airtanker dropping retardant over the area. In addition to these two major fires, there were nine more wildfires burning in Texas, with burn bans issued in 130 counties due to the warm and dry conditions. Smoke and dust filled the sky in Oklahoma as an incredible amount of fires erupted amid the strong winds on March 14, 2025. As officials continue to work through the night to contain the fires, it is crucial for residents in affected areas to stay informed and follow safety guidelines to protect themselves and their communities.
