The successful completion of the tests demonstrates the potential for drones to meet critical needs like delivering supplies quickly and cost-effectively across the Commonwealth. The announcement comes as companies like Amazon, DHL, and FedEx have started using drones for package deliveries in select areas. MassDOT’s Drone Operations Program aims to improve transportation safety by integrating drones into various operations.
