“Paris Exhibition Honors Snoopy’s Timeless Style in Anticipation of His 75th Birthday” – NBC New York

A new exhibition in Paris showcases the fashion history of Snoopy and the Peanuts gang. Titled “Snoopy In Style,” the exhibition celebrates the 75th anniversary of the iconic comic strip and features 75 outfits designed for Snoopy and his sister Belle by top designers like Chanel, Fendi, and Vivienne Westwood.

The exhibition highlights the evolution of the characters’ outfits in popular culture, from Charlie Brown’s zig-zag shirt to Peppermint Patty’s school uniform. Schulz’s widow, Jeannie Schulz, explained that the characters’ unique styles helped identify them and represent their personalities.

The show also features vintage fashion inspired by Snoopy, including pieces from designers like Marc Jacobs and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. Vintage Peanuts merchandise dating back to the 1960s is also on display.

Peanuts Worldwide executive Melissa Menta noted the different ways the Peanuts characters are embraced in the United States and Europe, with Europe seeing the brand as a fashion icon. The exhibition aims to showcase the lasting appeal of Snoopy and his friends, who represent relatable human experiences through their comic strip.

The “Snoopy In Style” exhibition is free to the public and will run from March 22 to April 5 at the Hôtel du Grand Veneur in the Marais district of Paris. Visitors can enjoy the intricate designs and unique fashion history of the beloved Peanuts characters in this special celebration of style and creativity.
