Samantha Sheppard, a 32-year-old from Scottsdale, Arizona, has always been a passionate runner. Inspired by her mother’s battle with cancer, she started running marathons at a young age and even qualified for the Boston Marathon at 19. However, in 2023, she faced a setback when she was attacked by a Rottweiler, injuring her right bicep and prohibiting her from running.
After months of recovery and surgery, Samantha decided to get back into running and successfully re-qualified for the Boston Marathon at the 2024 Mesa Marathon. Her determination and resilience have brought her back to the race she loves, and she is looking forward to the upcoming event.
Samantha’s story is a reminder of the power of perseverance and the ability to overcome obstacles. Running has taught her valuable life lessons and shaped her into the person she is today. She hopes to inspire others to never give up on their dreams, no matter the challenges they face.
