The US faces threats from storms, tornadoes, and wildfires in the Carolinas.

Over the last weekend of March, a storm system is expected to bring severe weather threats from the Midwest to the Gulf Coast. In Texas, heavy rain could lead to flooding, while Louisiana and Mississippi may also experience possible flooding. The West Coast may see rain and potential flooding as well. Meanwhile, wildfires in the Carolinas are being fueled by extreme fire weather conditions, with evacuations taking place in both states. In North Carolina, three wildfires have burned 10 square miles of land and destroyed homes, while South Carolina is dealing with rapidly expanding fires prompting evacuation orders. The state’s forestry commission warns of elevated fire danger due to low humidity, high winds, and drying fuels. Looking ahead, the weekend is expected to bring dangerous storm conditions, including damaging wind gusts, large hail, and tornadoes, in more than a dozen states from the Gulf Coast to the Great Lakes. The storm will move into the East, bringing threats of tornadoes and downpours to the Eastern Seaboard from northern Florida to Maryland next week. Overall, the imminent storm system poses a significant threat of severe weather across multiple regions, prompting preparations and caution from residents and officials alike.
