Over 200 Migrant Criminals Arrested in ICE Raid in Massachusetts

In a recent operation led by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Massachusetts, nearly 400 arrests were made, with over 200 of those being illegal immigrants with serious criminal convictions or charges. The six-day raid in the Boston area targeted members of criminal gangs like MS-13 and Tren de Aragua, despite Boston’s sanctuary city status.

Mayor Michelle Wu has faced criticism over her sanctuary city policies, but she remains committed to protecting illegal immigrants in the city. The operation involved multiple federal agencies besides ICE, including the FBI, DEA, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Among those arrested were individuals with significant criminal histories, including charges or convictions for murder, drug trafficking, organized crime, and money laundering. The operation also resulted in the seizure of large quantities of drugs such as methamphetamines, fentanyl, and cocaine.

ICE emphasized the importance of safeguarding the immigration and citizenship process, stating that allowing violent criminals to enter or remain in the U.S. is a threat to public safety and national security. The agency remains dedicated to eradicating transnational criminal organizations and making communities safer.

Despite the controversy surrounding sanctuary city policies, ICE’s enforcement efforts in Massachusetts aim to remove dangerous criminals from the streets and protect the American public. Mayor Wu’s office did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the operation.
