St. John’s Prep boys lacrosse team started their season with a strong 11-7 win over Acton-Boxboro, led by Josh Haarmann’s four goals and Cam McCarthy’s hat trick. However, Bishop Feehan dominated St. John’s (Shrewsbury) with Mikey Ferraro and Dexter Izzo each scoring five goals in a 14-4 victory.
In girls lacrosse, Joselyn Silva scored six goals to lead Beverly to a 12-9 win over Algonquin, while Swampscott narrowly defeated Bishop Fenwick 5-4. In baseball, Lincoln Slade’s 4-for-4 performance and Hudson Cambal’s pitching helped Dennis-Yarmouth secure a 9-1 win over Tantasqua.
Aly Toto’s three RBIs and Grace Monagle’s homer led Austin Prep to a 10-4 victory over Marianapolis in softball action. In other sports, Thayer Academy boys tennis defeated Austin Prep 7-2, and Austin Prep girls tennis beat Governor’s Academy 8-1. In volleyball, Lexington swept St. John’s (Shrewsbury) 3-0.
