Cast announced for Beatles biopics: Meet the actors set to portray the Fab Four – NBC New York

Sony Pictures made a big splash at the CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas by announcing four upcoming biopics about The Beatles along with the actors set to portray the iconic band members. Paul Mescal will play Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon. The films, directed by Sam Mendes, are set to premiere in April 2028, offering a unique binge-able theatrical experience.

In addition to The Beatles biopics, Sony also showcased other highly anticipated films at the convention, such as Danny Boyle’s “28 Years Later” and the third installment of the Spider-Verse trilogy. Sony CEO Tom Rothman urged movie theater owners to get creative with discounts and encouraged longer theatrical runs for films.

With Hollywood still reeling from a box office deficit in the first quarter of 2025, the industry is looking for ways to attract audiences back to theaters. The convention served as a platform for studios to promote their upcoming releases and highlight the benefits of the theatrical experience. Following a successful Oscars ceremony that emphasized the importance of seeing movies in theaters, Hollywood is hopeful that the industry will rebound and draw more viewers back to the big screen.
