The event marked Melania Trump’s first public appearance in Washington since President Trump’s speech to Congress in March. The International Women of Courage Award, now in its 19th year, recognizes women who have shown exceptional courage and leadership at personal risk. The award has been presented to over 200 women from 90 countries since its inception in 2007.
