The estimated jackpot for the next drawing is $20 million, with a lump sum payment of about $9.3 million before taxes. The Double Play feature allows players in select locations another chance to match their Powerball numbers, with a top cash prize of $10 million. Powerball is available in 45 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico, while the Double Play add-on is available in 13 lottery jurisdictions. A $2 ticket gives players a one in 292.2 million chance at winning the jackpot. Drawings are held three times a week with the deadline to purchase tickets being 9:45 p.m. Eastern.
