Woody Harrelson recently revealed that he had to turn down a role in the third season of the HBO drama “The White Lotus” due to a scheduling conflict with a pre-planned family vacation. Harrelson was set to play either the main character Rick or Rick’s friend Frank in the upcoming season which takes place in Thailand. The show’s producers have implemented a non-negotiable pay system where all actors are paid the same amount. Despite being up for a role in the show, Harrelson met with Warner Brothers CEO David Zaslav to try and increase his salary, but the pay system remained steadfast.
Additionally, there were creative differences between the show’s creator Mike White and composer Cristóbal Tapia de Veer, particularly regarding the iconic “White Lotus” theme song. Despite disagreements over the direction of the music, the new season of “The White Lotus” continues to delight viewers with its star-studded cast including Carrie Coon, Leslie Bibb, and Sam Rockwell. “The White Lotus” has been a hit since its first season in 2021, with season regulars making around $40,000 an episode. The show’s third season finale airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO and Max.
