April’s upcoming full moon on April 12 will not be a supermoon, but rather a micromoon, as it will be at its furthest point from Earth in its orbit. The Anishnaabe people refer to this moon as the Sucker Moon, signifying the return of harvest sucker fish to streams and lake shallows for spawning. These traditional names reflect the close connection between nature and culture for Indigenous communities. Overall, while the Pink Moon may not be as visually striking as a supermoon, it still holds significance and meaning in various cultural traditions.
