In local high school sports action on Wednesday, April 9, several exciting matches took place across different leagues in Massachusetts. In the Bay State League, Brookline High School defeated Newton North High School 3-2, while Wellesley High School edged out Framingham High School with a score of 3-2. Needham High School also secured a dominant 5-0 victory over Walpole High School.
In the Berkshire League, Mount Everett Regional High School narrowly defeated Hampden Charter School of Science High School 3-2. In the Catholic League, St. John’s Prep had a strong 5-0 win against Boston College High School, and Saint John’s High School (Shrewsbury) beat Xaverian 3-2.
Elsewhere, in the Pioneer, Tri-County North, Tri-County South, and Valley Leagues, several other schools competed with Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School achieving two 5-0 victories, Mount Everett Regional High School winning 3-2 against Hampden Charter School of Science High School, and Longmeadow High School securing a 5-0 victory over East Longmeadow High School. Overall, Wednesday’s matches showcased the talent and competitive spirit of local high school athletes.
