As the 250th anniversary of the first Revolutionary War battles approaches, Patriots Day festivities in Massachusetts will be filled with a lineup of events from April 16 to April 21. The celebrations include various activities such as lantern vigils, reenactments, marches, guided hikes, interactive plays, and more.
Highlighted events on April 16 include an evening with Ken Burns in Boston, followed by a lantern procession in Concord on April 17, and a commemoration march in Acton on April 18. There will also be reenactments of Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride in Boston and Lexington, as well as a ceremony at the USS Lexington Memorial.
The festivities will continue with a reenactment of the Battle of Lexington, a dawn salute in Concord, a Patriots’ Day Parade in Lexington, an 18th Century Encampment in Agawam, and many more events throughout the weekend. On April 21, a guided hike of the Battle Road trail in Concord and an interactive play in Norwell and Scituate will wrap up the celebrations.
