D’s Keys Dueling Pianos and Sing Along, a popular Boston destination known for its unique combination of live music, audience participation, and hilarity, is set to close its doors on April 26 after nearly seven years in business. The venue, managed by Matt Nichols and Robert Morse, cited financial struggles as the reason for the closure.
The dueling piano bar, located at 391 D St in Boston, has been a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike to publicly embarrass their friends by singing classic hits and participating in interactive challenges like the “Wheel of Destiny” and the “Junk in the Trunk” game. Guests have also enjoyed having funny messages written on a glass board behind the stage for a few bucks.
In an Instagram post announcing the closure, D’s Keys urged patrons to visit before the final night to enjoy the sing-along fun and support local musicians. The venue will welcome walk-ins, but reservations are recommended as the end draws near.
Despite the disappointment of the closure, Morse and Nichols expressed gratitude to the Boston community for their support over the years and encouraged continued support for live music venues. D’s Keys has been a hub for entertainment, laughter, and good times, and its absence will be felt by many in the city.
As a final farewell, the venue invites guests to come and enjoy a night of music, laughter, and memories before the curtains close on this chapter of Boston’s nightlife.
