West Springfield boys’ volleyball team bounced back from a recent loss with a dominant win against Ludlow. The Terriers exhibited strong offensive prowess, using powerful serves and a solid presence at the net to secure a sweep against the Lions. Head coach David Nemchinsky highlighted the team’s focus on starting strong and maintaining momentum throughout the game.
Five different players for West Springfield contributed five or more kills, with Daniel Gargun leading the team with eight. Prasanta Bhandari stood out with 27 assists, three aces, and one block, while Ruvim Derevyanchuk and Aleksandr Bak led the team in blocks. Despite a competitive third set, West Springfield ultimately secured a 25-15 victory to sweep Ludlow for the season.
Looking ahead, the Terriers are set to face Longmeadow in a rematch, aiming to replicate their season-opening win. On the other hand, Ludlow is still seeking their first win of the season and will travel to Springfield International Charter in hopes of breaking their seven-game losing streak. The Terriers’ performance against Ludlow showcased their depth and skill, setting a positive tone for upcoming matches as they continue to build on their successful season.
