Carter Was a Happier Man and Better President Than Biden

In his first public remarks since leaving office, former President Joe Biden criticized the Trump administration’s handling of the Social Security Administration, accusing Trump of “taking a hatchet” to the program. Trump, during a meeting in the Oval Office, criticized Biden by comparing him unfavorably to former President Jimmy Carter, stating that Biden’s administration was “worse than Jimmy Carter.” Trump gave accolades to Carter upon his death, despite being a long-standing critic of the former president. However, Trump expressed unhappiness over plans for the U.S. flag to be flown at half-staff during his inauguration following Carter’s death, a tradition that has been in place since 1954. House Speaker Mike Johnson suspended the 30-day mourning period for Carter to allow flags at the U.S. Capitol to fly at full-staff at Trump’s inauguration. Trump expressed dissatisfaction over the situation, stating that “Nobody wants to see this, and no American can be happy about it.” Despite his critique of Carter and Biden, Trump acknowledged Carter’s love and respect for the country, recognizing his efforts to make America a better place.
