GoFundMe removed a fake fundraising campaign for one of the three Concord-Carlisle High School teenagers killed in a Florida crash. The campaign raised funds for senior Hannah Wasserman, who died along with two other seniors in the tragic accident. The fundraiser claimed to be set up by a student and had raised $8,000 for Wasserman’s funeral costs. However, it was found to be fraudulent, and the campaign was pulled after GoFundMe was notified. The students were all 18 years old, and a fourth senior was injured and in critical condition. GoFundMe emphasized the importance of being a safe and trusted platform for donations and stated that they refunded all donors once it was determined the campaign was not legitimate. The students were involved in a crash with a tractor-trailer while driving in Florida. The incident left two students dead at the scene and two others hospitalized. The community has been deeply affected by the tragedy, and efforts to support the families and injured student are ongoing.
MassLive has reached out to school officials for more information on the incident.
