Massachusetts Congressman Jim McGovern has announced the unexpected death of his daughter, Molly, at the age of 23. Molly passed away while visiting a friend in Italy, prompting a heartfelt statement from the McGovern family on April 24.
In their tribute, the family described Molly as a radiant individual who brought joy to those around her. “Molly radiated pure joy. She lit up every room with her beaming smile and a sharp wit that could disarm you in an instant,” the statement read. Known for her compassion and kindness, Molly was celebrated for her ability to connect with people and her fierce loyalty to loved ones.
Born and raised in Massachusetts, Molly was a dedicated student at Northeastern University, majoring in political science with a focus on international affairs.
