DEA Reports Over 100 Immigrants Detained at Unlawful Nightclub in Colorado

Protests erupted following the FBI’s arrest of Judge Hannah Dugan, who is accused of assisting an undocumented immigrant evade capture. This incident coincided with a major enforcement operation by the DEA in Colorado, where over 100 individuals were arrested in a raid on an underground nightclub in Colorado Springs. The operation, conducted on April 27, involved more than 300 federal and local law enforcement personnel and resulted in the detention of 114 individuals for suspected immigration violations, as well as significant drug trafficking activities.

DEA officials revealed that the raid uncovered not only drugs, including cocaine and a substance referred to as “pink cocaine,” but also firearms. Some of the patrons included active-duty service members, prompting further investigation by the Army Criminal Investigation Division.

The nightclub, described as housing serious criminal activity, was allegedly frequented by members of the Venezuelan gang “Tren de Aragua.” Colorado’s Attorney General Pam Bondi claimed the presence of gang-related individuals justified the crackdown. This operation follows a trend under President Trump’s administration, which has intensified immigration enforcement, often leading to clashes with judicial authorities.

During the raid, law enforcement issued multiple warnings to individuals inside the venue before arrests commenced around 3:45 a.m. Video footage showcased chaotic scenes as officers apprehended suspects, with many complying with police commands.

While federal officials claim to target gang-related violence and trafficking as a rationale for deportations, Venezuelan authorities have contested the notion of any remaining influence from Tren de Aragua. The Colorado Springs Police Department emphasized that their involvement was solely to address local criminal activities, distancing themselves from immigration enforcement responsibilities per state law.
