More Than 2 Million Ninja Pressure Cookers Recalled

SharkNinja Issues Recall for Over 2 Million Pressure Cookers Due to Burn Risks

By Wyatte Grantham-Philips, Associated Press Business Writer

NEW YORK (AP) — SharkNinja is recalling more than 2 million Ninja-branded “Foodi OP300 Series Multi-Function Pressure Cookers” sold across the U.S. and Canada due to serious burn injury reports. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) revealed that consumers reported over 100 burn injuries, including more than 50 cases of severe burns, attributed to the lid’s potential to open while in use.

In total, 26 lawsuits have been filed related to the hazards of the product, which can cause hot food to spew from the cooker. SharkNinja emphasized its commitment to customer safety, urging users to discontinue the pressure-cooking function immediately and contact the company for a free replacement lid. While the pressure-cooking feature is affected, other functions like air frying remain safe to use.

The cookers, sold between early 2019 and spring 2025 for about $200 at major retailers including Walmart and Amazon, were manufactured in China. Consumers can identify impacted models through product labels and are encouraged to visit SharkNinja’s recall page for further information and to request replacements.
