Community Churches and Events: Connecting Through Faith and Service
Various local churches are actively engaging their communities this spring with a range of events and services.
Sunderland: First Congregational Church opens its Serendipity Shop every Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and holds weekly Sunday services at 11 a.m., available both in-person and via Zoom. For inquiries, contact scc1717@wordpress.com.
Holyoke: St. Peter’s Lutheran Church features a comprehensive weekly schedule, including worship and Sunday School at 9:30 a.m., a Monday Bible study, and Thursday worship. Additionally, Our Lady of the Cross Church will present a panel on "End of Life Issues" on May 13 at 6 p.m., free to all.
Longmeadow: The Rohr Jewish Learning Institute will host "Colorful Profiles," a course exploring lesser-known Jewish figures of courage. No prior knowledge is required, making it accessible to everyone.
Springfield: Foster Memorial Church will hold a "Drive-Through Collection of Food Donations" on May 10, supporting local food pantries. Also, South Congregational Church invites the community for services and numerous programs, such as Bible studies and knitting circles.
East Longmeadow: First Congregational Church will host a plant sale on May 10, featuring heirloom plants and a bake sale.
West Springfield: The Catholic Women’s Club of Agawam is organizing their annual banquet on May 15, featuring a buffet dinner for $36.
Opportunities for connection extend beyond services, including the upcoming "Journey of the Chosen" presentation at Our Lady of the Lake on May 21, highlighting personal journeys connected to the popular series.
