Kody Clemens Hits Home Run in His Debut at Fenway Park

Kody Clemens Shines Amid Family Legacy: Twins Beat Red Sox 4-3

By Ken Powtak, Associated Press

BOSTON (AP) — In a heartwarming showcase at Fenway Park, Kody Clemens took the spotlight, hitting a two-run home run to propel the Minnesota Twins to a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Saturday. This was a significant moment for Kody, given his father, Roger Clemens, is a Red Sox legend and seven-time Cy Young Award winner.

In the sixth inning, Kody launched an 0-1 slider from Hunter Dobbins into the right-field seats, which was a remarkable feat for the second baseman, making his first appearance at the iconic ballpark. “To be able to play in this game was super cool,” said Kody, 28. “Hitting one at Fenway is definitely up there on my list of personal milestones.”

Roger, who watched proudly from a luxury box with family, expressed his delight: “To hit a home run in a clutch situation at Fenway — it doesn’t get any better than that.” The two-run blast allowed the Twins to take a crucial lead.

Amid the excitement, a fan tossed the home run ball back onto the field, and the Clemens family managed to retrieve it. Roger revealed a friend helped them connect with the fan, who then came to share a photo and the memorable ball with the Clemens family.

Kody, who joined the Twins after being acquired from the Phillies, now has 15 career home runs. His special moment was further appreciated by family members and fans alike, strengthening the Clemens legacy in Boston baseball history.
