Massachusetts Forward Party Makes Strides at Inaugural Convention
Waltham, MA – The Massachusetts Forward Party showed significant momentum during its first official convention on Sunday, attended by approximately 100 supporters. Former Lt. Gov. Kerry Healey hosted the event, during which party members elected new officers, approved bylaws, and began formulating a state platform.
Spencer Morin Reynolds was elected as the new state chair, expressing gratitude and responsibility for his role in a party dedicated to reforming American politics. “We’re trying to fix our politics,” Reynolds stated, emphasizing the need for change in a broken political system.
Alongside Reynolds, Sean Diamond, a former candidate for the 9th Middlesex House District, was chosen as vice-chair. Additional members elected to the At-Large Executive Committee include Keoni Aricayos (Amherst), Cole Nardone (Acton), Max Asker (Quincy), and Mark Warner, a former mayoral candidate from Northampton.
Though the Forward Party has yet to achieve official status in Massachusetts, having only received political designation last year, Reynolds is hopeful that the party will gain full recognition in the next three-and-a-half years. “It’s a lofty goal, to be sure,” he remarked.
Reynolds also shared the party’s mission to attract “good people” focused on community service rather than party allegiance. He aims to provide Massachusetts voters with a viable alternative to the prevailing one-party system, advocating for a political landscape where voters feel they have meaningful choices.
As the Forward Party moves forward, its initiatives reflect a growing desire for political reform and diversity in representation in the Bay State.
