1st Lt. Marciano Parisano, a 25-year-old U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter pilot, was found dead on a riverbank in Comayagua, Honduras, on May 3, during a period of leave from his duties at Soto Cano Air Base. The Honduran National Police and the U.S. Embassy have confirmed the discovery and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
Hailing from Cibolo, Texas, Parisano was recognized for his academic excellence, graduating in the top percentage of his class at Steele High School. He went on to graduate in May 2023 from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he held leadership roles in various student organizations. Following his graduation, he served with the 228th Aviation Regiment as a UH-60 Black Hawk pilot.
His passing has elicited expressions of sorrow from military officials, including Colonel Daniel Alder, who praised Parisano’s contributions to the unit.
