3 Doors Down Frontman Brad Arnold Diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney Cancer
In a heartfelt announcement, Brad Arnold, lead singer of 3 Doors Down, revealed he has been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. In a video posted on May 7, the 46-year-old shared the shocking news with fans alongside his bandmates Chris Henderson, Greg Upchurch, Chet Roberts, and Justin Biltonen.
Arnold explained that his health issues began a few weeks prior, leading him to seek medical attention. He was diagnosed with clear cell renal cell carcinoma, the most common form of kidney cancer, which had unfortunately metastasized to his lungs. As a result, the band has regrettably decided to cancel their upcoming summer tour, which was slated to kick off on May 15 in Florida.
Despite the gravity of his diagnosis, Arnold expressed a positive outlook. “I’m not scared of it at all,” he stated, urging fans to keep him and his family in their thoughts and prayers. He emphasized his faith, declaring, “We serve a mighty God and he can overcome anything,” and ended his message on a lighter note, mentioning he would be listening to the band’s uplifting song “It’s Not My Time” during this challenging period.
The announcement drew an outpouring of support from fellow musicians, including Creed’s Scott Stapp, who wrote in the comments, “If anyone has the FAITH and STRENGTH to face this fight, it’s YOU brother. You and your family are in my prayers daily.”
As Arnold embarks on this difficult journey, fans and colleagues alike are rallying around him, offering encouragement and support in this trying time.
